Strategic committees

Advocacy

The Advocacy Committee speaks up about ethics, trust, and professional standards; supports fair and transparent financial markets and practices and protects the interests of investors. The Committee supports societies, leaders, and other volunteers in communicating with members about advocacy initiatives, policy positions, and the future of finance. The Advocacy Committee reaches out to local industry groups, policymakers, media, and investors.


ESG CHAPTER

The ESG Chapter presents CFA Society Italy and CFA Institute view on ESG themes, promoting the adoption of ESG metrics for investments among the financial community. Talking about ESG also means talking about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) which is critical to the future of the investment management industry. An inclusive environment ensures equitable access to resources and opportunities for all. An inclusive culture that leverages diverse views will be an important element in determining a firm's success.

Programming

The Programming Committee helps members enhance their investment knowledge, professional practices, career development, and professional networks. The committee plans and executes approximately one to two events per month that provide opportunities for networking, professional education, career development, and/or technical training with the aim of achieving the recommended 20 continuing education credits every year. Committee members recruit thought leaders and prominent practitioners as speakers, and create and deliver events of interest to members.

Communication

The Communication Committee enhances awareness of CFA Institute and CFA Society Italy among members, employers, regulators, and Italian financial professionals. The committee works to increase awareness of CFA Society Italy benefits and initiatives among our members, and coordinates the different communication channels (including PR agency).

Membership

The Membership Committee focuses on member recruitment, engagement and retention, and evaluates the overall member experience. The committee develops and implements strategies to recruit, engage, and retain members. This committee also makes itself available to current and potential members with questions regarding education as they pertain to CFA Institute and the CFA® charterholder designation.

Professional Learning

The Professional Learning Committee facilitates learning opportunities for CFA® candidates and finance universities students in Italy. It oversees the CFA Candidate Information Briefings, Mock Exams and Scholarship Programs. This committee also makes itself available to current and potential members with questions regarding education as they pertain to CFA Institute and the CFA® charterholder designation.

University Relations

The University Relations Committee interacts with universities, students and the investment community. It facilitates learning opportunities for CFA® candidates and universities of finance students in Italy. Its volunteers present and promote the CFA® Program to local universities and manage the CFA Institute Research Challenge for CFA Society Italy. University Ambassadors collaborate under the University Relations Committee and are informed investment professionals who engage in outreach to raise the profile of and expand dialogue about Research Foundation publications and events.


Fund Management Challenge (FMC)

The FMC chapter is responsible for delivering the annual Fund Management Challenge and maintaining the relationship with the universities involved in this project and the FMC sponsors. The final objective of the committee is to create a multinational FMC competition.

Valentina Valdameri

Valentina Valdameri is Senior Business Development Manager for the wholesale and institutional Italian market at Legal&General Investment Management (LGIM) since September 2022, having held the same role between 2019 and 2021 yet. Valentina joins LGIM after being one year at Fidelity International as Senior Sales Manager for the wholesale and institutional Italian market. Prior to that she has been Business Development Manager at Legg Mason Global Asset Management and Client Service Officer at State Street Global Advisors, where she started her career in 2012. She graduated with a MSc in Business and Enterprise Law at Bocconi University in 2013. She is a CFA Charterholder since 2019.

Giancarlo Sandrin

Giancarlo is Head of Wholesale Distribution Southern Europe for LGIM. He joined LGIM in 2018 from BlackRock where he held the title of Head of Asset Manager Clients for iShares Italy and was responsible for developing the ETF business among the Italian wholesale market. Prior to that, he was part of HSBC investments covering the Italian wholesale market. Giancarlo graduated from Bocconi University in Economics and he is a CFA Charterholder. He served as President of CFA Society Italy.

Michela Aimar

Michela Aimar is a member of the Board of directors of CFA Society Italy and Co-chair of its Advocacy committee, with a focus on ESG themes. She has more than twenty years of financial markets experience in Italy, UK and Brazil, engaged with ESG analysis and investment since 2005. Currently, she is Sustainable Investing Officer at Fondaco sgr. Previously, she worked as portfolio manager for institutional clients and mutual funds, at financial institutions such as Intesa Sanpaolo, Barclays Capital and ABN Amro, as well as a pension fund and a multi-family office. She holds an Economics degree from the University of Turin, earned a Master's degree in Finance from London Business School and is a CFA charterholder.

Fabio Crosignani

Fabio is a portfolio manager and ESG analyst at Eurizon Capital SGR and he has been involved in the creation and development of the ESG proprietary score of the SGR since the very start of the project. From 2011 to 2015 he worked as portfolio manager and fund selector at Banca Passadore & Co..; he previously worked at IWBank S.p.A, where he started his career in 2008 as a trading engineering consultant and later became a risk manager in the same company. He studied mathematics at the Università degli Studi di Pavia and earned his bachelor degree with honours in 2006 and his master’s degree with honours in 2008.
He is CFA charterholder since 2017 and member of the Board of CFA Society Italy since 2021. He volunteers helping candidates and prospective candidates with many dedicated activities promoting a dynamic and collaborative network.

Andrea Dal Santo

Andrea Dal Santo, CFA, ARPM is Managing Director of BlueVal Group LLC, a business valuation practice in New York City, and Executive Director of Solidus Capital Group, a management consulting and corporate service firm also based in New York City. Andrea, through his firms, serves a wide range of US and foreign businesses including large financial institutions as well as SMEs. Prior to that, Andrea managed $1 billion+ in European, North American, and Emerging Market assets for Arca Sgr. As Head of Global Emerging Markets for Arca, Andrea invested in more than 20 developing countries and analyzed a wide range of securities. Before that, he was specialist portfolio manager in North American TMT for Arca. Andrea has a Master Degree in Economics with distinction from Ca’ Foscari University and has taken coursework in Fintech at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Marcella Pasi

After starting her career in Eurizon Capital Sgr, Marcella joined Borsa Italiana SpA in 2010 within the Capital Markets area, part of the Membership Team. She is currently responsible for the onboarding of new clients and the implementation of new projects across all markets for the existing members.
She is also actively engaged in WIN – Women Inspired Network - of Borsa Italiana, whose aim is to facilitate inspiring talks, create networking opportunities and hold insightful events to promote inclusion and diversity culture.
Marcella became CFA charterholder in 2015 and have been a volunteer of the CFA Society Italy since then: in 2019 she has been appointed Board Member.

Giuliano Palumbo

Giuliano Palumbo is President of CFA Society Italy and he is responsible for the global fixed income strategies at Euromobiliare Asset Management SGR. With over fifteen years of portfolio management experience, he previously worked in Arca SGR as Head of emerging markets desk. Prior to that, he was a Quantitative Analyst at Pioneer Investments (now Amundi AM). Giuliano graduated in Economics from University of Naples and holds a Master in Economics and Finance. He was awarded with the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2009. He previously served as Treasurer and then as Secretary of the Board of Directors at CFA Society Italy.

Denis Manzi

Denis Manzi is member of the Board and Treasurer of CFA Society Italy since 2019. He is currently Chief Investment Officer at Banca di San Marino S.p.A. (BSM), where he was formerly Head of Asset Management and Head of Financial Innovation. He is also a Board Member at Fagus Multimanager SICAV, a Luxembourg UCITS umbrella collective investment scheme. Denis graduated from University of Bologna in Computer Science in 2007, he holds the European Financial Advisor (EFA) designation since 2009, he is CFA Charterholder since 2013 and he achieved the Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) designation in 2018.

Gabriele Montalbetti

Gabriele is a Director at Consultinvest SGR, where he manages fund of funds. Previously he was General Manager and partner of an independent asset manager and Vice President at JPMorgan Investment Management, where he was a fixed income and global balanced portfolio manager for private and institutional clients.
Gabriele holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from the Polytechnic of Milan and an MBA from the Polytechnic Business School of Milan (MIP).
He has been a volunteer for CFA Italy since 2001, where he served as board member, Treasurer and then President. He served in many CFA Institute committees, including the Education Advisory Board, the CIPM Advisory Council (also Chair), the Standards of Practice Council and the GIPS Executive Committee. He is a volunteer for the Programs administered by CFA Institute (CFA, CIPM, Investment Foundations).

Matteo Riccardi

Matteo Riccardi is member of the Board of CFA Society Italy since 2011 and Vice-President since 2017. He is Chief Investment Officer for the Italian Insurance Banco BPM Vita (part of Banco BPM Group) since 2017. He approached the insurance investment management sector in 2004, joining the Italian Business Unit of Zurich Insurance Group, where he worked for 13 years, serving as Chief Investment Officer for Italy from 2014 to 2017 and, before that, as Head of Securities Investment and ALM senior analyst. Prior to this experience, he worked in the Risk Management Department of Eptafund Sgr (now part of Eurizon Capital) in Milan and in Dublin for three years. Matteo graduated from Bocconi University in Finance and Financial Management Services in 1999, he is CFA Charterholder since 2004 and he has also achieved the CIPM, CAIA, FDP and FRM designations.

Anna Gamba

Anna Gamba has a 20-year experience in the Financial sector. Since June 2016, she works as Wealth Manager for Institutional, Professionals and High Net Worth Private Clients at Olympia Wealth Management Ltd. She spent 13 years as Fund Manager, mainly on European and International Equity, first at Eurizon, then at Mediolanum Gestione Fondi SGR. In 2012, she spent a period as Consultant and Financial Advisor; from march 2013 to February 2015 she was Senior Analyst at the Advisory Company FS First Solutions.

Matteo Lombardo

Matteo Lombardo is a Board Member and Chair of the Advocacy Committee of CFA Society Italy. Matteo is currently the Chief Credit Officer for Working Capital Associates, a trade finance specialist. He graduated from Università Bocconi with a BSc in Economics. Matteo holds a MSc Master in Finance Degree from London Business School and he is a CFA Charteholder since 2003.

Monica Romanin

Monica Romanin is part of the CFA Society Italy Board and proud to participate also in the Advocacy Committee.
Monica joined EY Advisory in 2015, specialised in project management, focused on projects in financial services. She gained experience working for Intesa Sanpaolo Group and Crédite Agricole Group covering different roles and responsibilities as analyst, portfolio/fund manager and advisor mostly for Institutional Investors.
Monica graduated in Economics at Ca’ Foscari University (Venice) and is a CFA Charterholder.

Marin Gueorguiev

Marin Gueorguiev serves as Board Member of FinecoBank and a member of the Risk and Related Parties and the Remuneration Committees. Since more than twenty years he has been providing risk management and internal control systems management consultancy services to Financial Services and Energy & Utilities companies in Italy and in Europe. Throughout his career he has gained the following significant experience: 2018-2019: Co-founder of Quantum S.r.l.; 2009-2017: Managing Director, Risk & Compliance of Protiviti; 2007-2009: Senior Manager, Finance & Risk of Oliver Wyman; 2004-2007: Director of Protiviti 1997-2004: Senior Manager, Capital Markets and Audit of Deloitte.He graduated in Economics and Business from Ca' Foscari University of Venice in 1998 and obtained the CFA designation in 2002.

Anna Paola Marchi

Anna Paola Marchi joined Federated Hermes as Distribution Director for Italy on 1st September 2023. Anna Paola has 20 years of experience in international asset management. She comes from Credit Suisse Asset Management, where she joined as Head of Wholesale Clients for Italy in 2017. Previously, since 2005 she was Sales Relationship Manager for Italian wholesale clients in the Asset Management division of J.P. Morgan, where she joined in 2000 as Portfolio Manager. Anna Paola has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration at Bocconi University and a Master's degree in Philosophy, Policy and Social Values at the London School of Economics. Anna Paola is a CFA Charterholder.
