About CFA Society Italy

CFA® Society Italy was founded in 1999 as a non-profit organization of investment professionals who agree to abide by the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct. CFA Society Italy promotes the highest ethical and professional standards within the Italian investment industry and encourages professional development through the CFA® Program, the CIPM® Program and the Investment Foundations Program.

Through an ongoing series of events for investment practitioners, CFA Society Italy offers a range of educational opportunities and facilitates the open exchange of information and opinions among investment professionals.

CFA Society Italy is affiliated with CFA Institute the global, not-for-profit association of investment professionals that leads the investment industry by setting the highest standards of ethics, education, and professional excellence.

CFA® charterholders embody the four virtues that are the hallmarks of CFA Institute: ethics, tenacity, rigor, and analytics.

CFA Institute provides a designation of distinction to the financial community; building discipline, character, and excellence in the financial world.

To establish a direction for serving our members CFA Society Italy has adopted a formal strategic planning process and a set of values around which all of its programs, services, and initiatives revolve.

CFA Society Italy embraces the CFA Institute’s mission to lead the investment profession globally by setting the highest standards of ethics, education, and professional excellence.

Vision summary

CFA Society Italy will be the organization for investment professionals who are dedicated to meeting the highest standards for ethical behavior, education and ongoing professional development, and excellence of practice in the profession.

Strategic objectives

Deliver a personalized and enhanced value proposition to members (through high quality events, papers, networking opportunities and a topical and engaging continuing education program).

Build greater awareness and recognition for charterholders and the CFA Program through increased engagement with employers, and continuing levels of engagement with universities and the regulator.

Develop and implement a formalized communications plan that engages members, inspires candidates and informs and educates the wider stakeholder base.

History and bylaws

Seven investment professionals, two CFA charterholders, and five CFA® candidates formed the organizing committee of the Italian Society of Investment Professionals (ISIP) in March 1998. The Society was created in June 1999. In June 2005 the Society changed its name to the Italian CFA Society (ICFAS) and in 2012 to CFA Society Italy.

CFA Society Italy is organized as a non-profit organization under Italian law, and is affiliated with CFA Institute in the United States. Admitted September 16, 1999.
