CFA Society Italy joins the 10th Edition of the European Quant Awards

08 May 2024

CFA Society Italy announces the opening of registrations for the 10th edition of the European Quant Awards, launched by CFA Society France, open to university students and interns in quantitative finance regardless of specialty. No CFA candidacy or membership is required.

The European Quant Awards offers students the opportunity to test their skills in a stimulating and professional environment. The competition not only rewards academic excellence with a scholarship but also provides an important platform for interacting with professionals in the financial sector who specialize in quantitative systems.

Students interested are invited to submit original research in English, focused on the theme of quantitative finance, favouring practical applications over mere technique. The research can be a thesis, an internship report, or a work specifically prepared for the event.

Applications are free and must be submitted by May 31, 2024.

Reports must be sent by August 31, 2024, to the email address quantawards@cfafrance.org.

“Our goal with the European Quant Awards is to promote academic excellence and to offer students a unique opportunity to interact with experts in the financial sector,” said Giuliano Palumbo, CFA, President of CFA Society Italy. “Quantitative finance, through the use of mathematical and statistical models combined with large datasets, represents a fundamental pillar in the analysis of financial markets and securities. This approach, driven by machine learning and artificial intelligence, has gradually gained ground, becoming increasingly central in the financial landscape over the years.”

The jury, composed of independent judges and a Super Judge, will evaluate the reports anonymously according to various criteria.

The Award Ceremony, held in the country where the winner submitted their application, will be a special occasion to celebrate the students’ success.
