Fund Management Challenge

2025 Edition

On Thursday, June 26, the 2025 edition of the CFA Society Italy Fund Management Challenge officially came to a close with the awards ceremony - a formative and challenging journey that saw university students engaged for months in a unique experience of academic and professional growth.

CFA Society Italy is happy to congratulate the winners of the 2025 CFASI Fund Management Challenge sponsored by Arca Fondi SGR and FactSet - the team from Politecnico di Milano!

The evening was an opportunity to celebrate their commitment and thank those who made this initiative possible: from sponsors to universities and, of course, the true protagonists—the students themselves.
We warmly renew our congratulations to the winning team for their well-deserved victory, and extend our applause to the Università degli Studi di Padova and Sapienza Università di Roma, who placed second and third respectively, along with all the teams that rose to the challenge.

As our President Giuliano Palumbo, CFA, recalled during the evening:
“After more than a decade of history - and a major upgrade that has made the Challenge fully web-based and even closer to real market dynamics - the Fund Management Challenge continues to test the best talent from our universities. For CFA Society Italy, it is a vital tool for cultivating competence, analytical rigor, and team spirit: qualities that turn today’s students into the professionals capable of energizing the financial system of tomorrow. I thank our sponsors, volunteers, and academic institutions for believing in a project that continues to grow and generate value for the entire community.”

The CFASI Fund Management Challenge is an equity portfolio management competition for graduate students from Italian universities, which gives graduate students the opportunity to compete in a realistic scenario, developing both the individual and group skills necessary to build high performing portfolios. As in real life, students are subject to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct (Codes and Standards) which are promoted by the CFA Institute, the global association for investment professionals which awards the CFA® and CIPM® designations. These are the same Codes and Standards that form the ethical benchmark for investment professionals around the globe.

The 2025 CFA Fund Management Challenge was participated by 41 students, 9 universities and 11 volunteers.
