The survey was carried out by CFA Society Italy, in collaboration with Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor, among its members in the period 19 - 31 March 2024.
Approximately three-quarters of the respondents consider the current situation of our country’s economy to be stable, 7.4% see the Italian economy in a positive condition, while 18.5% believe there is still a negative dynamic.
In terms of expectations for the next six months, 11.1% of respondents expect an improvement in macroeconomic conditions (-19.3 points compared to last month), 63% estimate unchanged conditions (+32.5% compared to the last survey) and 25.9% expect a worsening (-13.2 points compared to last month). The percentage of those who expect stable conditions for our country in the next two quarters thus increases significantly. The difference between those who are optimistic about the outlook for the Italian economy and those who are pessimistic is -14.8, the value that represents the “CFA Society Italy - Radiocor Sentiment Index” for March 2024. The figure thus stabilises at slightly negative values, remaining little changed compared to the previous survey (-6.1 points compared to the beginning of March).
Expectations for the next six months for the Eurozone became substantially neutral, while for the USA the worsening of expectations that began last month continued.
