At this event organised by CFA Society Italy, regulators and industry professionals will highlight critical issues and discuss opportunities arising from the new regulatory framework. We will also present the results of a recent survey conducted by CFA Institute on the impact on the provision of investment research and the opinions “from the ground” from CFA charterholders across Europe.

Giancarlo Sandrin is President of CFA Society Italy since 2016 and he is responsible for LGIM’s Italian Wholesale & Retail market. He joined LGIM in 2018 from BlackRock where he held the title of Head of Asset Manager Clients for iShares Italy and was responsible for developing the ETF business among the Italian wholesale market. Prior to that, he was part of HSBC investments covering the Italian wholesale market. Giancarlo graduated from Bocconi University in Economics and he is a CFA Charterholder.

Capital markets regulation expert

Martina Tambucci has worked in Consob, the Italian Financial Services Authority, since 1996 and is currently appointed as Head of the Regulation Office, where she deals with financial markets regulatory issues. Prior to her current position, she was involved in the supervision of domestic trading and post-trading infrastructures, in which capacity she took part in the level 1 negotiations on the EMIR Regulation and on the review of the first MiFID directive, and was subsequently involved in the ESMA work on connected second level measures. She also took part actively to the MiFIDII-MiFIR transposition project at national level. She acquired a specific expertise in the area of Benchmarks by acting, first, as Chairman of the Council Working Party on Financial Services in charge of the negotiate of Member States on the Benchmarks Regulation during the semester of the Italian Presidency of the Council of the European Union (H2 2014), and then as coordinator of the ESMA task force that developed the Benchmarks Regulation draft second level measures. She is a graduate of LUISS University of Rome and gained an MPhil in Economics at University of Derby (UK) and she is a frequent speaker at conferences on regulatory topics.

In 1999, he founded Copernico SIM and in 2015 he was co-founder of Ulisse BioMed. Currently, he is the Chairman of the Board on both companies.

After graduating as lawyer, Enrico began his career in Unipol in 1997 and joined BNL the following year as member of the team the launched the first mobile bank in Italy In charge of the commercial activities department up to 2007, following the acquisition of BNL by BNP Paribas group he worked in the IT division on the complex business projects integration program as PMO. In 2009 he joined the Sales division as Head of support to the BNL network on after sales issues and started the process of automation and migration of operations to multifunction ATM. Since 2011 he is responsible of the Investment Solutions Desk for the International Financial Services Italy division, which operates in synergy with the different companies of the group – Cardif, BNP Paribas AM & Real Estate, CIB-Global Markets – supporting the advisory activities of the sales department of BNL network also through the use of new integrated platforms with specialist hubs in Milan and Rome. He is a member of the Aifin advisory board and earned an executive MBA at Luiss Univestiy.

She started her career as auditor in Horwarth & Horwarth and joined Citibank in 1987 first as Independent Control, then as Risk Manager and Covered warrant sale-trader. From 1994 to 1998 she was first Head of Marketing for Covered warrant, then Head of marketing of derivatives products to institutional clients. She joined UniCredit group in 1998 and was Product and Market Management Head at Unicredit Banca Mobiliare until 2000. In the following years she worked for the same group at Tradinglab Banca as Deputy CEO, Chairman of the Board of Tradinglab Inc., CEO of Tradinglab Banca. She joined Secofind SIM in 2006 and became CEO one year later. At present she is CEO at Spafid Family Office SIM.
