Deputy Director General for Markets and Payment Systems - Bank of Italy
Stefano Siviero is Deputy Director General for Markets and Payment Systems the Bank of Italy (since 2021) and Bank of Italy's representative on the Markets Committee of the BIS.
He graduated with honors in Economics and Business from the University of Pavia in 1985. He continued his postgraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, USA), obtaining an MA in Economics in 1989 and a PhD in Economics in 1995.
In 1985-86 he worked as a researcher at the Polytechnic of Milan and at the Banca Commerciale Italiana.
In 1989 he joined the Bank of Italy, where he contributed to the development of the quarterly econometric model and the production of macroeconomic forecasts. From 2007 to 2013 he was Head of the Modelling and Forecasting Division. From 2013 to 2021 he was Head of the Economic Outlook and Monetary Policy Directorate; from 2007 to 2021 he was the Bank of Italy’s representative on the Monetary Policy Committee of the ECB,
He has published numerous articles in Italian and international scientific journals, on topics mostly relating to macroeconomic modelling and monetary economics. He has taught statistics, econometrics and international and monetary economics at universities in Italy and abroad.

Lorenzo joined Infracapital in 2020 from 3i Infrastructure Plc where he was a Director managing the fund’s portfolio investments across Continental Europe including transport, utilities and social infrastructure assets and contributing to the fund’s origination. Lorenzo previously spent three years at EISER Infrastructure Limited as an Asset Manager managing investments in the transport, utilities and renewables space in Italy and Spain. Prior to this Lorenzo was a member of the Power, Utilities and Renewables Investment Banking team at HSBC for three years. Lorenzo’s early career includes consultancy positions at both Cambridge Associates in London and Value Partners in Argentina, as well as a finance role at Eni SpA. Lorenzo holds an MBA from London Business School and a Masters in Economics and Business Management from Luiss Guido Carli University, Rome. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Maria Paola worked from 1986 to 2008 as a sell-side equity analyst in different Italian banking institutions including Banca IMI and Intesa Sanpaolo Banking Group, mainly covering small and medium sized industrial companies. In 2003 she became responsible for the retail investment communications team dedicated to the Sanpaolo Retail and Private Banking network. She graduated in Economics at the Milan Luigi Bocconi University and has been a Member of the Italian Financial Analysts Association since 1989. She joined J.P. Morgan Asset Management Milan in November 2008.
