CFA - Board Member and past President - CFA Society Italy

Giancarlo Sandrin is Board Member of CFA Society Italy and has been President of the Society from 2016 to 2021. He is responsible for LGIM’s Italian Wholesale & Retail market. He joined LGIM in 2018 from BlackRock where he held the title of Head of Asset Manager Clients for iShares Italy and was responsible for developing the ETF business among the Italian wholesale market. Prior to that, he was part of HSBC investments covering the Italian wholesale market. Giancarlo graduated from Bocconi University in Economics and he is a CFA Charterholder.

Deputy Head of the Directorate General for Markets and the Payment Systems - Banca d'Italia

Stefano Siviero is Deputy Head of the Directorate General for Markets and the Payment Systems of the Bank of Italy (since 2021) and Bank of Italy's representative on the Markets Committee of the BIS. He graduated with honors in Economics and Business from the University of Pavia in 1985. He continued his postgraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, USA), obtaining an MA in Economics in 1989 and a PhD in Economics in 1995. In 1985-86 he worked as a researcher at the Polytechnic of Milan and at the Banca Commerciale Italiana. In 1989 he joined the Bank of Italy, where he contributed to the development of the quarterly econometric model and the production of macroeconomic forecasts. From 2007 to 2013 he was Head of the Modelling and Forecasting Division. From 2013 to 2021 he was Head of the Economic Outlook and Monetary Policy Directorate; from 2007 to 2021 he was the Bank of Italy’s representative on the Monetary Policy Committee of the ECB, He has published numerous articles in Italian and international scientific journals, on topics mostly relating to macroeconomic modelling and monetary economics. He has taught statistics, econometrics and international and monetary economics at universities in Italy and abroad.

Before joining Bloomberg, he was a Vatican correspondent, working for several Italian and American media including Time magazine, BBC and NBC. With Jana Randow, he is the author of a best-selling book on Mario Draghi's presidency of the ECB, "L'Artefice", which has been translated in Spanish and Chinese.

Flavio Carpenzano is an investment director at Capital Group. He has 16 years of industry experience and joined Capital Group this year. Prior to joining Capital, Flavio worked as a fixed income senior investment strategist at AllianceBernstein. Before that, he was a product manager at PIMCO focussed on credit strategies. His early career also includes a role at the Bank of England as an analyst in the markets department. He holds a master's degree in finance and economics from Università Bocconi. Flavio is based in London.

Maria Paola Toschi, Executive Director, is a Global Market Strategist based in Milan, and is in charge of communications to domestic retail and institutional clients. Maria Paola worked from 1986 to 2008 as a sell-side equity analyst in different Italian banking institutions including Banca IMI and Intesa Sanpaolo Banking Group, mainly covering small and medium sized industrial companies. In 2003 she became responsible for the retail investment communications team dedicated to the Sanpaolo Retail and Private Banking network. She graduated in Economics at the Milan Luigi Bocconi University and has been a Member of the Italian Financial Analysts Association since 1989. She joined J.P. Morgan Asset Management Milan in November 2008.
